About
Welcome to Thian Fock Cafe, nestled in the heart of Kampung Kenyalang Park, Kuching. This charming, old-school kopitiam offers a nostalgic escape into the culinary traditions of Malaysia. With its rustic charm and warm ambiance, Thian Fock Cafe has captured the hearts (and appetites) of locals and visitors alike.
The menu may be modest, but the dishes served here are packed with flavor and authenticity. You’ll find a delightful range of options, from the beloved kolo mee to the fragrant laksa. Each bowl and plate speaks to the rich food heritage of the region. Many patrons, like Lance Lai, return for the comfort of familiar flavors, reminiscing about childhood eats that evoke sweet memories.
One of the treasured highlights at Thian Fock Cafe is the roti bakar. As gh teo praises, it’s arguably the best value butter toast in Kuching. The generous slather of butter penetrates the warm, toasted bread, creating an indulgent treat that’s impossible to resist. It’s no wonder some guests find themselves returning daily just to savor this heavenly snack!
For those in search of refreshing beverages, the iced lemon tea here, made with imported lemons, offers a zesty escape from the Malaysian heat. As shared by Eva Ruth, it’s a perfect companion for breakfast or lunch, providing a delightful contrast to the savory dishes.
Moreover, the friendly atmosphere is bolstered by the warm service from the stall owners, enhancing your dining experience with their welcoming charm. Whether you’re a fan of pork noodles, kaya toast, or nourishing porridge, Thian Fock Cafe is a treasure trove of hearty meals that celebrate the essence of Malaysian dining.
So if you're wandering through Kuching and looking for an authentic dining experience, make sure to visit Thian Fock Cafe. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a journey back to cherished memories and a taste of tradition, waiting to be discovered.
“ Love the Claypot stall at the main entrance. Delicious, affordable, generous and fast. ”
“ Long time ago, when I was a child, there is a place where I ate wonton for the first time, and every morning my dad always took me there. Now that it’s the year 2023, I’m finally back to taste the sweet old memories. The taste of the same old wonton is still the same. The service here is okay. The laksa store owner is very kind and he can even speak English, since I’m bad at mandarin. The kolo mee store workers are quite busy and working hard during peak hours. If you’re willing to visit the old kopitiam with an old school taste, this is the best kopitiam for you. They’ve got kolo mee, laksa, pork noodle, kaya toast and porridge. ”
“ Love the laksa here. Personally, I like it better when I mix the whole 辣椒 together. Heads up, the 辣椒 itself is spicy The stalls' 老板 is very friendly and nice! ”
“ I came here 4 days straight just for the roti bakar! Imo its the best value butter toast in kuching. No kaya, just butter melted into the warm, well toasted bread! The butter was so generous that it seeped through the toast! We will probably try the other stalls once we get over the buttery toast. ”
“ A small and old kopitiam in Kenyalang, it has a limited yet decent amount of food options. A great place to lepak for breakfast and lunch. Did not try any food during my visit but the iced lemon tea is very nice and refreshing with imported lemons. ”
